About ChurchForm
ChurchForm is an educational website dedicated to exploring the architecture, history, and cultural significance of churches in the Greater Houston Area. Rather than focusing on proselytizing, ChurchForm approaches churches from a secular and observational perspective. The goal is to help visitors, students, and local residents better understand what makes each church unique — not only as a place of worship, but as a structure shaped by history, culture, and design.
ChurchForm organizes churches into clear subsections based on denomination and architectural style, making it easier for users to explore and compare traditions.
Background & Inspiration
ChurchForm was inspired by personal experience. Growing up in a home influenced by multiple Christian denominations — Catholic, Anglican, and Quaker — choosing a church often became more about architecture than theology. Over time, that curiosity developed into a deeper appreciation for ecclesiastical spaces and their historical meaning.
Although I do not currently belong to any denomination, I continue to visit and study churches whenever possible. ChurchForm was created out of that same curiosity and desire to learn.
